Singer/songwriter victim of coyote attack on CBI

A 19-year-old woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in an attack by two coyotes on Cape Breton Island Tuesday afternoon. At 3:15 p.m., Cheticamp RCMP received a 911 call that a lone hiker was being attacked by two coyotes on the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highland National Park. Bomb threat at school in Inverness

A bomb threat was received at a school in Inverness County, Nova Scotia on Tuesday morning. At 11 a.m., a bomb threat was received at Inverness Education Academy. The school was evacuated for the day pending the outcome of the RCMP investigation. Two male young offenders have been arrested and are in police custody in relation to this matter. Police investigate suspicious death in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP are investigating the death of a woman discovered in Dartmouth on Saturday morning. At about 11:15 a.m., a person visited an apartment in the 0-100 block of Roleika Drive in Dartmouth to check on a resident at that location. Upon arrival, the visitor discovered an unresponsive female as well as an injured man in the apartment. Police investigating seafood fraudster

Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP have issued a warning about a fraudster targeting seafood wholesalers. A local company has reported being contacted by a man claiming to represent another wholesale company in Montreal. The individual places a large order and deposits a cheque into the company’s account. The product is then shipped and delivered before the cheque is returned for not having sufficient funds. RCMP search Bishop Lahey’s residences and office

The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has executed a search warrant at former Bishop Raymond Lahey’s residence in Sydney. The search was conducted this morning, two days after the Mounties executed search warrants at Lahey’s residence and office in Antigonish. Liverpool couple charged in death of newborn baby

The RCMP have laid charges against two individuals in the death of a newborn baby boy in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Twenty-four-year-old Amanda Lynne Oickle of Liverpool is charged with failing to obtain assistance in childbirth and concealing the body of a child. Thirty-one-year-old Andrew Gary Cunningham also of Liverpool is charged with one count of concealing the body of a child.
